Everyone has a story.
I don't know the lady in this photograph, but she represents my goal for this section of my website: to meet strangers and tell their stories--stories that probably wouldn't get told otherwise.
I just can't sit on a train or stand in another long line without getting to know the person next to me.
I'm baffled--and bothered--by the way we act around strangers. The way we shut ourselves off and pretend that we have absolutely nothing in common. Imagine riding a bus for six hours and sitting next to a person your age, yet you both refuse to exchange a word. Why must we let this happen? People need to start talking to each other, otherwise society is just going to turn into a big ball of a person curled up on a kitchen floor made of ugly patterned tiles. Suddenly, I'm that girl in the photograph above, with that typewriter in my lap. And I'm ready to be the type of writer who introduces you to people you may never have the chance to meet, but have stories that deserve to be shared. All I need to do is ask.
